Kindred Jiu-Jitsu

Last August, Kindred Jiu-Jitsu reached out to me through our mutual connection at The Guild Muay Thai looking for photos for some upcoming marketing material, their new website along with their social media accounts. I was super excited for this project for a couple of reasons, 1. because Jiu-Jitsu has been a love of mine for the last decade or so, and 2, because as much as I’m around BJJ and a camera, I rarely get to combine the two. It was a busy couple of days of shooting, covering all of their classes. Youth and adult gi and nogi classes along with wrestling and yoga. Kindred was great! From the moment I wanted in the doors to when we were all wrapped up. If I lived in the north end of Seattle, I would for sure be a visiting this spot for some good rolls with some good people.

Here’s a few selects from my short time with these fine folks.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks 12-29-2019

In the final game of the regular season it came down to two teams that would leave first place in the NFC and a bye in the first round of the playoffs. With the season ending injuries of starting running backs, Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and CJ Prosise, we got to see the return of Marshawn Lynch into the Seahawks backfield. It was only fitting that the game came down to the last play of the game. With that, San Francisco came out ahead after stopping Seattle in the red zone with only seconds left on the clock. The 49res take the win 26-21, a first round bye are lined up to play the Vikings on January 11th. Meanwhile the Seahawks drop from 1st place into 5th and head into the post season as a wild card team against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Here’s a few highlights from the final game of the regular season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks

What a wild game... the Seahawks beat the Buccaneers 40-34 in overtime on a Russell Wilson to Will Dissly Touchdown. I’ve shot at Century Link Field several times for the Sounders matches, but how loud the 12’s get, is on a whole other level! Soon as I get back I dropped some ear plugs to into the camera bag for the next time.

Battle at the Boat 123 (September 7, 2019)

What a great night of out at the Emerald Queen Casino as Brian Halquest Productions delivers on stellar night of fights. Andy Nance’s matchmaking is what really makes this one of the best shows in the Pacific Northwest. Every fight was competitive and had the crowd on their feet several times throughout the event.

Here’s a few of my selects of the action from ringside. Thank you NW Fightscene for having me out to shoot on your behalf.
